NEXT: Alexander Wang Resort 2011 Inspired by Kate Moss
I looked over the new Alexander Wang Resort 2011 collection earlier today, and thought there was something vaguely Kate Moss about it:

And to prove I’m not grasping at straws…
All the Alexander Wang models have the exact same hair style Kate Moss had in a 1990 Corinne Day photoshoot. It’s easier to see the braids on the brunette model:

It’s just too weird to be a coincidence.

LOVE: Met Costume Institute Gala 2010
Last night, The Metropolitan Museum of Art hosted the annual Costume Institute Gala Benefit. This year, the theme was “American Woman: Fashion a National Identity.”

MIA, Alexander Wang, and Zoe Kravitz. Both MIA & Zoe wore Alexander Wang for GAP.

Katy Perry wore a dress designed by Francesca Rosella and Ryan Genz for Cute Circuit. The Galaxy dress is embroidered with 24,000 tiny LED bulbs.

Camilla Belle wore a red Jason Wu gown

Chanel Iman wore a Michael Kors jumpsuit

LOVE: Zoe Kravitz at the Chanel Tribeca Film Festival Dinner
On April 28th, Zoe Kravitz was photographed at the Odeon for the Chanel Tribeca Film Festival Dinner in support of the Tribeca Film Festival Artists Awards Program:
Here are some quotes from an interview Zoe had earlier this week with the Huffington Post:
.
.
.
On her tattoos:
“My favorite is my anchor. I also have my brother and sister’s name, my parents’ initials, some feathers and arrows and the word Mama from a letter my mother wrote to me.”
.
The best place to shop in New York:
“I’m pretty much a thrift shop gal. Flea markets on Sundays. There’s the Annex on 26th Street and Hell’s Kitchen on 39th Street. Alexander Wang is my favorite and my best friend and then Trash & Vaudeville on Saint Mark’s Place.”
.
What she’s reading:
“I read a lot of biographies. I’m reading Patti Smith’s book right now, Just Kids, and Jeff Buckley is one of my favorites. I just read a biography on him.”
.
.
.
Earlier that day, Zoe attended the opening of the Fifth Avenue Sunglass Hut flagship store:

NEXT: Alexander Wang Darla Pyramid Clutch
Not too long ago, the Alexander Wang Coco Duffle was nearly impossible to find. Its popularity made it an endangered species of some sort. Since then, the Coco has evolved into the quilted Rocco, the Diego Bucket, and finally…
.
The Darla Pyramid Clutch
.
It’s overpriced, a bit ugly, and totally impractical. Therefore I must have one. I would refer to it as “The Darla” in public, and wear it every day until all the studs fell off (at which point I’d hold a funeral just like this).

During New York Fashion Week this February, Swarovski brightened the runway by collaborating with the best of New York’s elite designers. Alexander Wang and Rodarte were just two of a handful of designers that incorporated Swarovski Crystal Pearls into their collections:

Each Swarovski imitation pearl has a crystal core which gives it the same weight and cool temperature as a real pearl. So, if you ever wondered what materials designers use for embellishments, Swarovski seems to be a favorite.

Photo Credits: StyleLOVE: Marc Jacobs Fall 2010 RTW
Obligatory Marc Jacobs RTW post. They say his show is the hottest in New York. Whoever they are…they should also add Alexander Wang (everything he makes reaches “it” level status) and Betsey Johnson (she really knows how to put on a show).
.
Anyways, here are my “Top Four” from the Marc Jacobs Fall 2010 RTW collection:
This collection was great in that some of the cuts were very conservative (below the knee hem lines, high waists, etc.) but the materials made them modern. Take this coat for example:
It’s a classic cut. Yet the sparkling, transparent material gives it a twist & makes it innovative. MJ is able to mix contradictory elements in a way that no other designer can.

Photo Credits: NYMagLOVE: Modern Day Edie Sedgwick- Becka Diamond
Coolest moment this week would have to be seeing Becka Diamond on a fashion shoot. At first I didn’t recognize her because her normally stick straight platinum blonde hair was, well… I’ll just say very different.
.
.
.
This was me (on the inside, of course) when I realized who she was:
.
She’s fairly new to the fashion scene, so I wouldn’t be surprised if not everybody knows who she is. The only reason I do, is because I’m an insane person who stalks the crap out of everyone on Street Peeper
.
.

.
So, in a nut shell, Becka Diamond is an aspiring actress from Boston. She was dubbed fashion’s new It Girl this September when she made the rounds at New York Fashion Week’s hottest shows & parties. Her best friend is model Dree Hemingway, with whom she is often photographed.
.
^Her fridge… apparently she only eats Chanel nail polish
.
She is gorgeous in person & super charismatic.
Pretty sure there will be a lot of buzz about her come fashion week.

Three more days!
