TREND: From Blonde to Sacré Bleu – Tavi Gevinson’s Blue Hair

Style Rookie’s Tavi Gevinson recently dyed her hair blue. Supposedly the inspiration for this drastic change came from Dazed fashion editor, Katie Shillingford, who has platinum blonde hair with navy tips.

I think Katie’s hair is interesting. Definitely not something I’ll try today, but she pulls it off. Tavi, on the other hand looks better with her natural hair color. Although, who knows, maybe her new shade will grow on me.

I don’t want to go overboard here, but it’s possible that blue hair will become a trend. Not only does an influential fashion blogger have blue hair, but it was also shown at the Chanel Couture show:

      Yea maybe her hair needs more blue & less silver? But then again, the blue at Chanel was very light…

    Back in the day, I wanted electric blue hair but I only ever had the coverage to do some temporary streaks. Now I don’t think any color but my natural one would go well with my wardrobe!

    I read somewhere that kate moss recently did light blue streaks, but it came out gray. There were pictures, but i dont remember which site i read it on.

    oh i WISH it would turn into a Marie A, or even better, the Dutchess of Devonshire’s headpiece sculptures! And maybe then men would wear ascots again. lol one trend at a time ;)

    was it just me, or did anyone else also notice that epaulets/strong shoulders are coming back in a big way? especially at the grammys

    I cut off my really long hair and cut it extremely short in back and kept front longer and dyed it a beautiful shade of blue and that was in 1982 and I got a lot of grief but did enjoy it.
    So, it’s funny for me to see this “new” trend.
    I LOVE THIS BLOG!!
